Vast Rhythm (2024)
DESCRIPTION:
One of a kind, photographic artwork created through digital manipulation. Printed on high-quality acid-free paper using archival pigments. Single print, no others will be made. 20 X 20 inches with an additional 2” white border. Complete dimensions are 24 X 24 inches. Signed and dated, with a print-number (1/1), on the border.
THE STORY BEHIND THE IMAGE:
Chicago’s downtown was the original inspiration for the New City collection, a playful reimagining of urban architecture, verticality, and density. “Vast Rhythm” started as a realistic photo of buildings visible from the south window of 2515 Clark Street, seventh floor. The photo was intentionally distorted and recolored using several digital applications, employed randomly until I arrived at a result that expressed the feeling I wanted.
